Why Customers Switch

A better way
to handle safety supplies.

Our customers come from large national suppliers — looking for the same service, more personal attention, and a more sensible bill. Here's what they get with us.

01

Local · No Call Center

You talk to the same people every visit — the same local team that's been doing this in Utah for two decades. Not a 1-800 number, not a rep on commission, not a regional manager three states away.

02

Honest Pricing

We're not publicly traded. We don't have shareholder margins to hit or quotas to chase. If you need $100 of supplies, we sell you $100 of supplies — and the bill reflects it.

03

Service Without Lock-In

No multi-year contracts. No early-termination fees. We earn the relationship every visit. Most of our customers have been with us for 10, 15, even 20 years — without ever signing a contract.

How VMI Works

We stock it.
You forget about it.

Your safety manager has a hundred other things to do. We handle the supply room so they don't have to.

01

We walk your safety room

A free, on-site audit. We catalog every fire extinguisher, eyewash station, first aid kit, and PPE bin — and set min/max stock levels with you.

02

We replenish on a schedule that fits you

Weekly, monthly, or quarterly to keep your safety supplies stocked. Annual or semi-annual to service your fire equipment — which has to be done on that cadence anyway. We restock what's running low, rotate dated items, and leave the room ready for the next shift.

03

You stop chasing supplies

No more late-night Amazon orders for the wrong respirator. No more techs running across the plant looking for gloves. We know what you need — we've been doing it for 20 years.

What We Supply

The whole safety room.
Under one roof.

From fire extinguishers to PPE to first aid — we stock and service everything your team needs to stay protected and compliant. One supplier, one schedule, one bill.

SERVICE 01

Fire Extinguishers & Fire Equipment

Sales, service, NFPA 10 inspections, recharges, and hydrostatic testing. We handle what fire marshals and insurance auditors check first.

SERVICE 02

First Aid, Eyewash & Replenishment

OSHA-compliant first aid kits, eyewash stations (sales, install, and service), and routine on-site refills. Built and stocked for your specific facility — not a generic kit pulled off a shelf.

SERVICE 03

Gloves, Respirators & PPE

Nitrile, chemical-proof, cut-resistant, welding gloves. N95s, half-masks, full-face respirators. Hard hats, hi-vis vests, safety glasses — stocked and replenished.

SERVICE 04

Tyvek Suits & Specialty Safety Gear

Disposable Tyvek coveralls for hazmat, paint, and contamination work. FR clothing, cut-resistant sleeves, fall protection — whatever your hazard mix calls for.

SERVICE 05

Defibrillators (AEDs)

Sales, service, pad and battery replacement, and routine inspection. Required at many facilities — and the kind of thing you don't want to discover is dead during an emergency.

SERVICE 06

Fire Extinguisher & First Aid Training

On-site training for your team. Hands-on fire extinguisher use, first aid response, and CPR. Annual certifications and refreshers so your people are ready when it matters.

In Their Words

Real Utah businesses.
Real long-term accounts.

A featured Yelp review, plus two placeholder testimonials we'll swap for real ones once provided.

★★★★★

Colonial picked up our entire safety supply program from a national vendor and the transition was seamless. Same coverage, more responsive, and a sensible bill. We should have made the switch years ago.

Dave doesn't try to upsell us. If we need $100 of stuff, he sells us $100 of stuff. That's almost unheard of with the big national suppliers. We've been with Colonial for years.

Common Questions

Straight answers.
No sales pitch.

If your question isn't answered here, request an audit — we'll get back to you the same business day.

What does Colonial actually do?
We provide vendor-managed inventory of safety supplies — fire extinguishers, first aid kits, PPE, gloves, respirators, Tyvek suits, and related industrial safety equipment. We come to your facility on a regular schedule, restock what you need, and service what needs servicing. You stop having to think about safety supplies.
How is this different from a national supplier?
The service is the same — vendor-managed inventory, on-site replenishment, fire suppression service and inspections, first aid refills, PPE supply. The difference is that we're a small, locally owned operation — not a publicly-traded corporation. We don't have shareholder margins to hit, no commission-driven sales reps, and no quotas. That changes a lot.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. We don't lock customers into multi-year deals. We earn the relationship every visit. Many of our customers have been with us for 10, 15, even 20 years — without ever signing a contract.
What size businesses do you typically work with?
Anywhere from a single shop or office up to large industrial accounts. If you have a safety supply room and someone is having to manage it, you're a fit for what we do.
Where do you service?
We're based in American Fork and primarily serve Utah County and the greater Wasatch Front. For larger accounts, we go further — request an audit and we can talk about coverage.
How do I switch from my current supplier?
Easier than you'd think. Request a free audit — we'll come walk your safety room, set min/max levels, and put together a replacement program. Most switchovers take a couple of weeks at most.
